8 Items Every Person Must Carry in Their Car (just in case)

Getting stranded on the side of the road is not a very enjoyable experience, but like anything else, if you’re prepared it could just be a small hiccup in your day.  There are some items that are cheap but very valuable to have in your car, for just in case.

Here are 8 Items everyone should have in their car:

1.  Spare Tire Tools $30+ & Jack – $15+ (usually comes with car)

Flat tires happen, be sure to be prepared for it to swap to the spare and get back on the road.  Most cars come with both the jack and tools, if not, it’s pretty important to have in the car just in case.  Amazon has some nice options.

2.  Jump Starter – $12+

In the old days we’d say having a set of those huge jumper cables in case you get a dead battery, but they take up a ton of space. Now there are small jump starter boxes, and are pretty affordable.  It’s a small battery jump starter box, that comes in handy to jump your car.  Amazon has some very affordable ones starting at about $15 but can range up to $100+ if you want extra powerful ones.  People use them to have as an extra battery pack also.

3.  Flashlight – $10+

You never know when you will be searching for something or lose something at night.  Whether it is in your car, or something that falls out of your car, having a flashlight is handy to have in general.

4.  First Aid Kit – $15+

Cuts happen all the time, accidents happen all the time.  It’s no fun when you have an open wound and you’re staining the interior of your car.  That stuff isn’t easy to clean especially after it dries up.  A basic one will do; that has Band-Aids, some wipes and antibacterial cream to clean up a cut.

5.  Battery pack – $20+

Having your phone charged at all times is very important for most people now a day.  Not all the time do you have a USB plug to charge from your car, so having a battery pack to charge your phone will solve that problem, and is a lifesaver for those that are out of the whole day.

6.  Pocket Knife/Blade – $10+

You never know when you might need to slash someone’s tires… just kidding just kidding! A knife can be useful out on the road whether it be cutting a box, cutting a strap or opening a package.  Ya just never know when you’ll need it!  Your local sporting goods store or Amazon.com is a good place to get an affordable one.

7.  Multi Use Tool – $10+

Along with the blade it, have multi use tool is good to have.  There are those multi use tools that will have a small blade, a bottle opener, a Philips screwdriver and scissors. There are many different variations that you can get depending how many tools you want on it.

8. Pocket Cash – $20

It’s always good to carry pocket cash.  It happens, you run out of gas and the cash comes in handy in case the gas station only takes cash.  It also comes in handy in case you get in a small fender bender, cash can convince them to have them get over it and not make it into a big deal.

Amazon is great place to start to search for all these items.  If you have these 8 items in your car, it will save when you least expect it.  They’re small things and if you add up all these tools you can get around a $100 budget.  We listed them 1 to 8 in order of importance.
